Det är ett  NASA, ESA (European Space Agency) and JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) are inviting coders, entrepreneurs, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, builders, artists, and technologists to participate in a virtual hackathon May 30-31 dedicated to putting open data to work in developing solutions to issues related to the COVID-19 pandemi More than 15,000 people from 150 countries participated in the NASA Space Apps COVID-19 Challenge on May 30 and 31. The hackathon invited coders, entrepreneurs, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, builders, artists, and technologists to propose solutions to a variety of challenges related to the pandemic. Since its inception in 2012, NASA’s International Space Apps Challenge has become the world’s largest global hackathon. The hackathon engages thousands of citizens across the globe to use open data from NASA and partner space agencies to build innovative solutions to the real-world challenges we face on Earth and in space. NASA, CSA, CNES, ESA, and JAXA thank the over 26,000 participants from nearly 150 countries that joined us to “Take Action” from home on October 2-4, 2020 as part of an entirely virtual celebration of our 9th annual hackathon!

The global main stage for this year’s event will be in Pasadena, California, with local events taking place simultaneously in 193 locations spanning 72 countries. The NASA International Space Apps Challenge 2020 (a 48-hour global hackathon) was held on October 2-4, in which more than 26,000 participants, from over 150 countries created more than 2,300 solutions for challenges under six categories.
